A Sunday Portland ME Phish Review
"Wooof, Great time last night. Band sounded great, just excited to be there. Really blew the roof off the old barn. Whole second set was fire, with Pebbles and marbles>2001 leading the way for me. Loophole avenue made it's way to Portland. Just a great night. KillDevilFalls is growing on me, they raged it last night. Free bird, with fish leading the vocals was pretty sweet. They were all cracking up. Bring on Wed." - TNASH

BLAKROC
So the new issue of Relix just turned me on to BLAKROC - a new album coming out featuring the Black Keys, w/ guest spots by the RZA, Q-Tip, Mos Def among other MC's. The whole thing came to fruition when Damon Dash reached out to the Keys about having his artist (Jim Jones) collaborate on an album. Once they got going, Dash reached out to a variety of other MC's who all wanted to contribute to this unique outfit. The results are fittingly awesome. I't seems the guys from the Black Keys are on a creative high right now, with both members following up their last albums with 2 solo records.....and now this. Check out the above clip (which is the 1st in a series of 8) to see what its all about.

What sick sick show. After spending the afternoon getting amped with friends at SDSG headquarters, Metallica's performance on Saturday night topped any & all of our expectations. For a great review and more pics I defer to Brooklyn Vegan. Highlights for SDSG included a VVIP stroll around the venue mid-set, a raging 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' & the overwhelming energy inside the Garden during 'Seek & Destroy' (w/ the house lights on). Just nasty

Nice Lefsetz Post on WSP
"There was no click track, nothing was prerecorded. But the band instantly found a groove and laid down in it, pulling the entire audience along. And the electricity was palpable. It was like every attendee was plugged into a socket, causing them to twist and turn, jump and groove to the music."

To add to the sheer ridiculousness of this past weekend, my buddy Justin B. had video DJ's Eclectic Method (whom he manages) "create a intro video to open 2nd set of Phish’s Halloween performance. Taking Phish’s “99 Albums” promotion to the next level, the trio sourced and remixed content from all 99 albums & remixed them into a single, beat-driven AV collage, shown just before the Phish took the stage to perform the Rollings Stones "Exile on Main St.” Simply put: EPIC
