Rockin show last night. MSG was packed to the brim & the preachers sons from Tennessee did not disappoint. From the opening chords of “Crawl” to the crowd favorite “So Night So Long” the band let it all hang out...and why not?? You don't come to Madison Sq. Garden to lay-up do you!?

We parked ourselves in what has become our official “go-to" spot, right under the scoreboard on the floor. Definetely a great vantage point to soak up the energy of the Garden. Plenty of amazing moments, one of which was Caleb dedicating “Fans” to the fans - for showing up and doing it right. "Manhattan" to close the show couldn't have been more appropriate “ I like to dance all night..same as the day..but that's how I play" Yeah thats how WE play!

Quote of the Day Re: "Beration Jam"

"Beration Jam is a mini-jam within every festival that we go to… its called our campsite!" - Gordon A.

LOST - So Very Good!

Wow! Where do I even start? Last nights LOST episode was fantastic. By way of introducing the time travel element, the producers have created a way to explain so so much in just one hours time slot. Here are some SDSG observations / questions: Ms. Hawking is defintely Farday's mother. Sawyer needs to take a chill pill. How is that from one scene to the next I cannot determine if Ben is good or bad? What happened between Ben & Sayid that made Sayid tell Hurley to "do the exact opposite of what Ben tells you to"? The fight scene in the motel was badass!! Might the whispers in the forest be the time travelling "losties" trying to communicate? Who is hired the lawyers whom are trying to determine if Aaron is actually Kate's baby? Could the Adam and Eve skeletons in Season One be Aaron and Ji Yeon? Who are the british soliders?.. There are so many of other questions.... I'll leave it to the fans to discuss.

Best quote of the night?..."What is this? It's a compass. What does it do? It points North, John. ... HA!

Here's a great recap via TV Guide

LOST - Lets Do This!

Photobucket

My favorite show (and maybe yours too?) is back on tonight. I've said it many times before and I'll say it again - this is best program TV has to offer hands down. I'm definetely going to have to pay a visit to www.tailsection.com before I sit down to watch, as there's a lot of ins, a lot of outs, a lot of what have you's that need serious refreshing. If your one of those who've never seen LOST before - I recommend going to Best Buy, purchasing seasons 1-4, hunkering down over the weekend & get yourself ready for what is sure to be one of the very best seasons of this epic series.

"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish"

Great article / speech that was given by Steve Jobs in 2005. "Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma–which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Blog of the Week - F*ck You Penguin!

This blog is hilarious. The blog title says it all "A blog where I tell animals whats what"

"Take this world-class douche, for example. Everyone is just hanging out, having a good time, and Mr. "My wingspan is bigger than yours" decides to unload on the scene. Even his swan friend is embarrassed. He probably does it all the fucking time because let's be honest: that's just what swans do."

Mediations - by Marcus Aurelius

Photobucket

"Never fear the future. You will meet it, with the same weapons of reason that today arm you against the present"

"When u would need a cordial for your spirits - think of the good qualties of your friends: this one's capabiliy, that ones humor, anothers generosity, and so forth. There is no surer remedy for dejection than to see examples of the different virtues displayed in the characters of those around us, exhibiting themselves as plenteously as can be. Wherefor, keep them ever before you."

It's quotes like these that make this book what it is. AMAZING. Written by one of the most respected emperors in the the history of Rome, Marcus Aurelius, the book outlines his personal guide to self improvement and true happiness. I've read the book countless times, and every time the words / verses always bear new meaning. Truly one of the most inspiring works I've come across.

Congrats Gator Fans!

Allman Brothers Return to the Beacon

Photobucket

The Allman Brothers have announced their return to the Beacon Theatre starting March 9th, for what is sure to be an epic (10) show run.

"I'd love to tell you what we have planned," Gregg Allman told Billboard, "but it's just kick-ass, that's all I can tell you."

The whole thing is supposedly being billed as a tribute to Duane Allman, the band's legendary slide guitarist, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1971.

Rumer is the shows will be chock full of special guests, one of whom will most certainly be Eric Clapton (Duane & Eric jammed extensivly on the Layla Sessions). Another possibility is Dickey Betts joining his old band. Now that would be the shiznit!

Two For Tuesday : Ricky Nelson Edition

Photobucket

I've always been a huge fan of Ricky Nelson. He of course was featured on the 1950's show Ozzie & Harriette, becoming a huge teen idol in the process. He's also responsible for penning a plethora of top 40 hits before his music career faded in the late 1960's. After experiencing somewhat of a renaissance, Ricky tragically perished in an airplane crash, leaving behind a daughter & twin sons who would go on to form the powerhouse group "Nelson".

Favorite lyric of his? "Can't please everyone - so ya gotta please yourself".

Sunday MMJ - NYE - NYC Post

Photobucket

Photobucket

What can I say??.....NYE lived up to the hype and then some. Between the pre-show party at my apt, My Morning Jacket's great choice of cover songs (Move on Up, The Wanderer, Express Yourself) the addition of an unbelievable horn section, watching the show from the best spot on the floor w/ all my friends & sharing a balloon drop with 15,000 well dressed people - I'd have to say this NYE was as good as it gets. Pretty sure everyone else who shared the experience would say the same. Nice
