Mediations - by Marcus Aurelius

"Never fear the future. You will meet it, with the same weapons of reason that today arm you against the present"

"When u would need a cordial for your spirits - think of the good qualties of your friends: this one's capabiliy, that ones humor, anothers generosity, and so forth. There is no surer remedy for dejection than to see examples of the different virtues displayed in the characters of those around us, exhibiting themselves as plenteously as can be. Wherefor, keep them ever before you."

It's quotes like these that make this book what it is. AMAZING. Written by one of the most respected emperors in the the history of Rome, Marcus Aurelius, the book outlines his personal guide to self improvement and true happiness. I've read the book countless times, and every time the words / verses always bear new meaning. Truly one of the most inspiring works I've come across.
