There She Goes....
After years of hard work & relentless touring, Grace Potter has officially reached superstar status. This couldn't have been more apparent than while watching her over-the-top performance on VH1! Divas earlier this week. Having stole the show from all the other pop vets, Grace and the Nocturnals became the # 5th searched item on Google and just topped the Beatles to take the # 1 spot on Itunes.
This is ofifically her moment folks- and we couldn't be happier for the VT girl done good. Seems like just yesterday we were creeping on her during MMJ's set up @ Mountain Jam.

Today would have marked Frank Zappa's 70th birthday. Although we've never fully dived into his catalogue, there is no doubt the man made a huge mark on music while he was here.
It's funny, but when we think of Zappa the first thing that comes to mind is of him testifying before congress on the censorship of music.. & just owning the whole proceedings. Tipper Gore never knew what hit her.

Ha
Damn! The Knicks may have lost a heartbreaker last night (watch the above clip) but their gutsy performance was something Knicka fans haven't seen at the Garden in ten + years. With Amare playing out of his head & the rest of the team stepping up, this is going to be one tough team to beat. Next up Lebron and the Heat. Bring it!

“Make a list. Cross it off. Read a book. Turn off the tv. Make some coffee. Take a day off. Take two days off. Take a week off. Go outside. Buy a plane ticket. Leave the country. Fall in love. Wear something fresh. Wear nothing. Camp a mountain. Swim with the fish. Listen to new music. Listen to old music. Play music. Take a walk. Make a new friend. Reconnect with old friends. Write people letters. Send the letters. Tell the truth. Breathe in. Breathe out."

Ooof
Complete and total beatdown. When you talk as big of game as Rex and the Jets do, to put up 3 measly points on MNF, against your biggest division rival, is flat out embarrassing. Now as much as we wanted the Pats to lose - watching Brady dissect one of the leagues better defenses was a thing to behold. I mean really... can't get much better than his performance last night.
Jets better pull it together down the stretch. But after watching what just went down, tough to imagine them beating the Pats when they meet again.

"Eli and his shitty INTs are like living in a shitty neighborhood. You might hear gun shots once or twice a week and at first it scares the shit out of you. But after a while you just get used to it and hope one of those stray bullets doesn’t kill you come playoff time" - Via Barstool Sports
A Saturday Review
Good times Saturday with the A-team. Things kicked off with NYC silliness > throwdown with opening band Indobox (who killed it ) and Raq at the Bowl. For complete shits and giggles we created a mock setlist and passed it to the band before the show. Kinda bummed they didn't play (1) track of off it....but Michetti did like the fact we through in "Strutter" as an encore.
Setlist.
City Funk > Transcontinental > Quick and Painless > Weakling>Melody of Anarchy
II.
Cheap Sunglasses** > Tunnel Vision Jam **, Ramp It Up > Mister Future , Silhouette Botz

Amazing show last night. Full Throttle and yours truly were in attendance for the special Tribute to Allen Woody, which turned out to be one big jam session / guest driven extravaganza.
Highlights included the above clip , the Allman Brothers 'No One Left to Run With' & Gov't Mule performing '32/20 Blues' w/ Luther and Cody Dickinson (the jam out of this song might just take the title of best of best jam of 10')

Last Weeks AC Festivities
Just plain off the chizzle. I could really go on and on about how good the shows were, but I'll leave it to the below writers / links to describe what went down. Its taken us a week to fully recover, but looking back, AC will rank amongst the better (3) night runs we've been a part of.
On to the next.

A Special Night
Last night the Brooklyn Bowl hosted a special fundraising event for Bill Clinton & the Clinton Foundation, which included performances by the Graveshift Band, Talib Kweli and Chaka Khan.
Between the President's heartfelt 20 minute speech promoting his cause, to Talib Kweli's performance in front of an audience comprised of VIP's (who payed a pretty penny to be there ) and general public ( most of whom had come to see Questlove DJ) to the legendary Chaka Khan performing 'Ain't Nobody' (with Bill peaking his head out from the side of the stage the entire set,) closing with Big Willie spotlighting an all kid band to end the show. Truly a night this GuY won't soon forget. We even got a pic with the Prez. Nice!

Monday GIANTS BLUE
Wan't the prettiest of wins, but we'll take it. Eli looked sharp. The receiving core got their sh*t together in the second half and Bradshaw / jacobs did what needed to be done. Even our much maligned D stepped it up (3 picks in the Red-Zone? Nice!) Now Carolinas QB leaves looked terrible... but a W's a W. What makes it more sweet is both Philly and Dallas Lost.
1 down -18 more to go.
