Wednesday : About Time Post
" The U.S. should stop arresting responsible marijuana users, Rep. Barney Frank said Wednesday, announcing a House proposal to end federal penalties for Americans carrying fewer than 100 grams, almost a quarter-pound, of the substance.

Amen
It's one of the more ludicrous things to me that in this day and age people are still being arrested and persecuted for smoking weed. The laws are completely outdated & the fact that one could end up in jail for simple possession, even if its for medicinal purpose, is just plain horrible. By decriminalizing it, it will eliminate the need of an underground subculture, ultimately keeping non violent people out of the already clogged jail system.
I can go on & on about this. But I leave it to the below artist to express how i feel

Two For Tuesday - America F*ck Yeah Edition
Lately its ocurrs to me how many great American bands there are / have been. After hearing about Bruce Springsteens return to Giants Stadium on Sunday night & a slated Poison concert this evening @ the Mohegan Sun, I'm feel compelled to dedicate a post to the great American Rock & Roll bands & their contributions to the music we love. If I had to list the top bands in order, it would go something like this:
1) Grateful Dead
2) Aerosmith
3) Allman Brothers Band
4) Bruce Springsteen
5) Metallica
6) The Ramones
7) Van Halen
8) Guns & Roses
9) Pearl Jam
10) Phish
And there you have it

Monday Blues - Not So Much??
Yeah it's Monday & we're all supposed to have the blues right?? Well, coming off the fantastic weekend I just had - our blues have seriousy flown the coop. Starting with a Friday night par-tay up in the hills of Redding CT, SDSG a crew shared a ton of laughs & good eats @ J Fords birthday dinner. Next up on Saturday was the Epic, all day Cokinni Island boat party....All we can say say is... WOW. Great weather, great peoples, all getting their party on. (see below pics)
Sunday was all about the recovery, and I spent it amongst my family, w/ my sister in town from the West Coast. If only every weekend could be as good as the last.

Thursday > Friday
Are we really creeping towards the end of July?? Wow. This summer is flying by and we here at SDSG need to get on making the 2nd half stack up to last years. This will be no easy task, as the 2nd half of last summer was easily one the best the kids ever experienced.
With that notion in hand, we do have a fantastic weekend lined up. Friday is the Fordo's birthday and you best believe we will celebrate in grand ol' fashion. Saturday is where things get interesting. Too many things to do, too little boats to get on. Do we A) Go see Gov't Mule & Rose Hill Drive absolutely own the Ives Center in Danbury?? Or B) Head down the Norwalk docks early AM & claim a spot on someones (Nutty) boat for a daylong / evening trip out to Cokkini Island. Or do we C) Head up to Mr AJ Cappelli BBQ at his new house in Newtown. Decisions Decisions.

Two For Tuesday: See Ya Round Edition
Today is a sad day here @ the SDSG headquarters. Our beloved Jeremy Shockey was traded yesterday to the New Orleans Saints for a few late round 09' draft picks. Shockey epitomized everything one could want in a football player. Guy was a flat out leader - & the Giants were better off with him on the field. Following his season ending injury last year, the the teams upper mgmt barred him from joining his teammates on the sidelines during the Superbowl, a tell tale sign of things to come & a fucked up thing to do to a player who gave the team everything he had while he was on the field.
I just really loved the way the Shockey played..... Balls to the wall / Hard nose football. The Guy was born to be a Giant...now he's a Saint??

Monday Blues Session
ESPY's last night were pretty darn good. I though JT did a decent job hosting, ecpecially during the "I Love Sports skit. Pretty hilarious. In other SDSG news - the weekend was HOT one - where we spent the duration stuck in the concrete jungle that is NYC. Saturday night was ecpecially fun though- starting off watching Jackson Fuse @ the Knitting Factrory > dance party @ Goodworld. All that said I cannot wait for this heat wave to break.

Wednesday Almost There Post
We be A movin & that's way we like it. It's certainly been an interesting week thus far, with a slew of action going down. Monday. Started out @ a Vitamin Water / 50 Cent party, where a bunch of athletes & celebs were in attendance due to the MLB All-Star game. As luck would have it, I was standing next to Joba Chamberlin & David Wright... & of course needed to get a pic with NYC finest young gunz. I mean, that's a once in a lifetime shot & I was set on not letting it slip away. Fate however had different planz. The camera/ blackberry phone we used to take the picture was wayyyy to zoomed in & completely botched the photo (see above). Grrrrr. I wasn't gonna be that guy and ask for another photo, so I let just walked way and headed to the bar for a shot or (3). With the wind outta my sails, me & a crew headed over to the Michael Jordan / Derek Jeter party...tons of athletes and even more stunners in the house. Left the party at 3AM, & made my way back to the crib to get some shut eye before I had to wake up at 8 in the monin for an event I was producing Tuesday evening.
Tuesday. Wake up, get'er goin, & head down to the Hiro Ballroom for a Kimora Lee Simmons / JC Penney fashion show event. Before I get in the cab, I head to my local bodega and grab a coffee and paper, but with the sour taste left in my mouth from the Joba / Wright photto gaffe, I buy a $1 scratch off.. and what happens next? The Kid wins $100 bones. Hell Yeah. Now I'm feelin FINE. Get to the venue. Start working through things. Lunch time. I head down a few blocks past the Apple store and see the never ending line of people wating to get their hands on the new iPhone. Well, lucks been with me so far I think, lets see what else I can pull off today. With my shitty blackberry pearl phone pressed hard against my ear , I made my way through the doors, & up the stairs to be greeted by an Apple rep. "How I can help you?", he says. Uhhh...I'd like the new iphone peez I say.... "Well follow me"....and 15 min later, I had the new phone. NIIIICE! After that, everything got a wee bit hectic with event, but all's well that ends well. People had fun, client was happy. Check Mate!

Two For Tuesday - Do I Know You? Edition
If you had told me Rothbury Michigan would be the place where old friends would meet up to re-hash and ultimately put forth all that could eventually be in Phish world, I would have told you "no f'ing way".
Well turns out that's exactly what happened. Not only did Trey run through a sets worth of acoustic Phish tunes, he invited out his old buddy Mike Gordon to jam on a bunch of new songs. Later, Trey returned the favor, sitting in during Mikes set. To make things even more sweet, Fishman showed up and they all jammed on the Beatles " She Said She Said". Now if only they can find a pianist :)
